What Does the Register of Deeds Do?
Register of Deeds;
Records or files land record documents authorized by the law, such as deeds, mortgages, satisfactions, certified survey maps, plats and Federal Tax liens. Files and indexes Birth, Death and Marriage records, Military Discharges, and issues certified copies upon request. Serves as DILHR agent for validating weatherization documents and serves as a vital member of the Land Information Committee.

- Married to Lynn Pabst and resident of the Village of Hammond. I have two daughters, Ashley and Kayla. I am the daughter of Bernard Schmidt and the late Audrey Schmidt, daughter-in-law of Mary Lou Pabst and the late Dale Pabst.
