Edorsment Letters:

This is a very difficult letter to write.  I know both candidates for the Register of Deeds position.  They are both wonderful & talented people.  Both are courteous, dedicated and knowledgeable.  I am torn because both are friends .
I have no doubt that either could handle the daily activities in the Office.  So for me the decision depends on who would serve as a better department head and administrator.  So I question:  Who has experience with technology and who will serve as a mentor/educator to the staff and public?  Who will be better at making decisions and handling the budget?  Which candidate has tried to do more and go beyond the daily requirements of the job?  Who will better promote communication?
As I focus on more than the daily activities and when I take the above factors into account to make this difficult decision, I continue to focus on one candidate.  The candidate I feel that would better serve this county as the Register of Deeds is Beth Pabst.
I have worked in the Register of Deeds Office 16 years.  The Register of Deeds Department has always relied on Beth for many reasons.  First, she has experience with technology.  She worked with the software vendor and computer services department and was the office’s lead educator for the public and employees.  Next, Beth does have extensive budgeting and financial experience and will be able to make decisions on what cuts are needed and she will fight for maintaining the level of service the public deserves.  If there were odd projects that needed to be done, Beth always was at the ready and willing to take on the most complicated tasks.  Beth has taken employee job descriptions before the county board.  She is a leader and inspiration.  I encourage all citizens to come to the same decision.  Please join me September 9 at the primary election and vote for Beth Pabst.
