As the former County Clerk for 13 years I had contact with the other county offices in the government center. It is because of this contact that I know both candidates that are competing for the position of Register of Deeds.
Both are pleasant, efficient, courteous and competent. They are both good people, but their personalities differ. One is quiet and reserved and one is purposeful, unhesitating and outgoing. The elected position of Register of Deeds is a department head and needs to be a leader. The person is responsible for the budget, technology and would serve as a liaison with other government offices, businesses and the public. Tough decisions have to made and you cannot waver.
